I need help finding music I like?

I'm not totally sure what kind I DO like, though, so it's always a pain asking for help. D: Bands I love include The Smiths, and I have a bit of a thing for Elton John, Abba, The Beatles, and John Denver, among others. I tend to like upbeat songs, though... I don't really know a whole lot of music. Some of my favorite songs include Genesis - Invisible Touch, Soft Cell - Tainted Love, and Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Round, along with bunches of stuff from my favorite artists. B-but I don't know where to start! Is there a list of genres out there? I don't know what I'm into and if anyone has any recommendations or anything I'd -love- it. I just fail at doing this myself. Help please? :D And I mean like individual recommendations. The first answer didn't help at all. ._. I know HOW to find music, but I don't know what I WANT. :D

1. I pay Napster 10 bucks a month. I have yet to find a song they don't have in their library. I play and record them at will using a free program called JetAudio. What could be easier?
2. it sounds like you like a lot of classic rock stuff. No one can tell you what to like haha so I suggest going to itunes or napster or something like that and type in classic rock and just start listening to different things.
