  3. they're ok
  4. A very enjoyable singer to enjoy when in a mellow sort of mood. He died too young, and is missed.
  5. I played "Annie" at my 8th Grade graduation on guitar. I didn't sing though. It was the only song I could convince my parents to let me play that WASN'T a gospel song. Which is what the rest of my piers ended up having to do hahaha
  6. your not the only one. it just so happens that i am listening to it right now
  7. I love his music. He was very down to earth and the songs were beautiful. Take me home is one of my favorite too.
  8. He died before I met him, so I don't have an opinion of the man.
  9. He was a great singer, songwriter, and humanitarian. His song, "Flying For Me" was written in tribute to the people who died in the 1986 explosion of the Challenger space shuttle. Probably one of the best American folk singers of the 1960s and 1970s - along with Paul Simon, James Taylor, Harry Chapin, and Gordon Lightfoot.
  10. Thank god I'm a country boy. and that plant a tree song.
  11. Oh, he was one of my favorites back in the day. My favorite songs of his were Rocky Mountain High and Follow Me

  13. i like that song they do after the WVU games.
  14. John Denver was a very talented artist whos life was cut tragically short by an ultralight crash in Oct of 1997. So much of his work was very heartfelt and loved by many. My personal favorite was one that he wrote, but someone else made famous, "Leaving on a jet plane" which Peter, Paul and Mary made famous. He was also very active as a humanitarian, doing benefit concerts for victims of Chernobyl, and many other causes. At least we do have his music to enjoy and share with future generations.
  15. who couldnt love John Denver. So simple, pure, and talented. Denver's songs were suffused with a deep and abiding kinship with the natural world. Songs such as "Take Me Home, Country Roads", "Leaving on a Jet Plane", "Calypso", "Annie's Song", "Thank God I'm A Country Boy", and "Rocky Mountain High" are popular worldwide. Denver has been referred to as "The Poet For the Planet", "Mother Nature's Son" (based on The Beatles song he covered) and "A Song's Best Friend".
  16. Not only a great songwriter/artist, but I would have been proud to have him as a friend.
